By Sarah Durrant, Group Digital Marketing Manager at Catax
Catax started working with the ICAEW way back in 2013 with an aim to assist their members in adding value to the service they already provide their clients.
Although many clients generally assume that their Accountant or tax advisor would be able to deal with their Capital Allowances claim, in reality many are not trained in assessing building costs and a lot of the claim typically ends up being a desktop invoice review, meaning that important areas may be missed and their total claim is therefore lower.
Enter Catax. We consider ourselves to be the experts in this niche market, with a sole purpose of claiming back the highest possible amount for your clients. A great deal of our business has been built by working alongside Accountants and financial advisors, becoming almost like an extra arm to their service. Additionally, working with us allows them to assign more focus to their day-to-day tasks safe in the knowledge that Catax will be taking care of their client. This also shows a full, rounded service to the client as the end user.
Our relationship with ICAEW has allowed us to show our clients a proven trust in the work that we do, and we are the only business within our industry who have this esteemed privilege. This has opened so many doors for us in terms of the Accountants we work with and we continue to build more of these relationships every day.
We’ve received some great feedback from the Accountants and tax advisors we’ve worked with over the years, including the following from David Pirkis at Sloane & Pirkis LLP; “We have a small portfolio of commercial and industrial properties. Catax was able to establish substantial unutilised capital allowances in several properties which have resulted in significant tax savings for myself and my partner. The advice was professional and the work carried out with the minimum of disruption and of input by us. I would be happy to recommend the Catax team.”
